Tirthan Valley is one of Himachal Pradesh's most beautiful and least touristy valleys. Named after the crystal-clear Tirthan River, it's a stretch of mountain villages, ancient temples, dense forests, and alpine lakes. Emberwood, located in the village of Jibhi at the heart of this valley, is the perfect base for exploring everything Tirthan Valley has to offer.

What Is Tirthan Valley?

Tirthan Valley sits in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude between 2,000 and 3,000 meters. The valley is defined by the Tirthan River, which flows through it from the mountains above. Villages like Jibhi, Banjar, Ghiyagi, and Shoja are scattered along the valley, each with its own character โ€” traditional Himachali architecture, ancient wooden temples, and locals who are genuinely welcoming to visitors.

Unlike the more commercialized areas of Himachal (Manali, Shimla, McLeod Ganj), Tirthan Valley has stayed relatively untouched. There are no massive resorts or shopping malls. What you get instead is quiet, clean air, stunning natural beauty, and a pace of life that actually lets you slow down.
